This article covers adding and adjusting tips on paid orders.

Intro to Tips
Tips must be enabled in the Register Payment Settings to accept tips. Check out the Register Settings article for more information on enabling tips.
Depending on how you have configured your settings, there are two ways to add tips to an order. If your business uses printed receipts to accept tips (i.e., the customer-facing display is disabled in the Register Settings), employees must manually add the tip to the paid check. If the customer-facing display is enabled, the customer selects the tip amount, which is automatically added to the paid check.
Reconcile Tips Screen
The Reconcile Tips screen (located by tapping ☰ and selecting Reconcile Tips) allows you to view all paid orders with the option to add, adjust or finalize the tip amounts. You can navigate between each option using the left-side navigation menu, which includes the following menu items:
The Tips menu displays all completed (paid) orders that do not have a tip. You can add a tip amount to the order by tapping
Add Tip.The Adjust menu displays all the completed (paid) orders with a tip amount with the option to adjust the tip amount via the
Adjust Tipbutton.The Finalize screen displays all the completed (paid) orders with a tip amount with the option to finalize the tip amount for all orders. Once tips are finalized, they cannot be adjusted.
Add Tips
To add a tip to a paid check:
From the home screen on the Register, tap the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
Tap
Reconcile Tipsfrom the fly-out navigation menu.With Tips selected in the left-side menu, locate the order and tap
Add Tip.Enter the tip amount using the on-screen keyboard and tap
Apply.Once the tip has been added, the order will no longer be visible in Tips (it will be visible in Adjust and Finalize).
Adjust Tips
You can adjust the tip amount on a paid check if the tip has not been finalized. To adjust the tip amount:
From the home screen on the Register, tap the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of the screen.
Tap
Reconcile Tipsfrom the fly-out navigation menu.Tap Adjust in the left-side menu.
Locate the order and tap
Adjust Tip.Enter the adjusted tip amount and tap
Applyto update the order with the new tip amount.
