Intro to Cash Management Functions

Cash Management Functions include options to remove/add/deposit cash out of or into open and active cash drawers. Often, you find too much cash in the drawers and want to drop it in a more secure location, or you may want to pull cash to pay a vendor, purchase supplies, or pay out tips to employees. The Paid In, Paid Out, Cash Drop, Tip Payout, and Gratuity Payout functions can be performed via the Cash Management module located in the left-side flyout menu in the Register. Read below for a detailed look at these cash functions.

Cash Management Functions

Paid In

Return money to the cash drawer via the Paid In function. See the Paid In article for more information.

Paid Out

Utilize this function to remove cash from the drawer for a specific reason, for example, reimbursing an employee who bought supplies or paid to a vendor. See the Paid Out article for more information.

Cash Drop

Perform a cash drop if you want to move cash from a cash drawer to the house (e.g., safe in the office). Cash Drops are commonly used as a security measure to prevent too much cash in the drawer at any given time. See the Cash Drop article for more information.

Tip Payout

Managers use the Tip Payout function to pay out non-cash tips to employees. See the Non-Cash Tip and Gratuity Payouts article for more information.

Gratuity Payout

Managers use the Gratuity Payout function to pay out non-cash gratuities to employees. See the Non-Cash Tip and Gratuity Payouts article for more information.
